ONU Homecoming 2017

Its that time of the year. A time to celebrate an annual spectacular event that fulfills Ohio Northern University's school spirit. During this event, everyone is having a great time and this brings the opportunity for the notable alumni to make themselves present. This year, Ohio Northern is planning a memorable homecoming event this year with a 100% guarantee that the students will have the time of their lives. The spirit that they will develop by being at the football game and hearing that marching band roll! As for me, I am on the football team and I most definitely look forward to participating in the homecoming event while playing a game at the same time. This will actually be my first time experiencing homecoming in college. I believe that this homecoming event will be a completely different feeling apart from homecoming in high school. Much more people would be performing in different groups such as color guarding, dancing, and my favorite, the drum line! There will also be tailgating outside of the football stadium, which he majority of students enjoy doing which is interacting with others outdoors, grilling food, and engaging in the homecoming spirit.

The softball program has reached their 50th year at Ohio Northern! In this homecoming event, a recognition will be made prior to the football game. This is a phenomenal idea. It is absolutely necessary to acknowledge a team that has been fighting to hold a steady title for the college for exactly half a century. According to what is said on the ONU article online about homecoming, another event that will be happening during homecoming is President Emeritus Kendall Baker and former first lady Toby Baker will be honored at 9 a.m. with the dedication of the Baker Commons near Affiinity Village, located along Polar Bear Way and Loop Road. This is a great way to honor the ones who have contributed greatly to the university itself.

Furthermore, the ones who put in the hard work way back to give a good name to Ohio Northern will be the ones who are to be recognized and honored. Therefore, our school spirit is what we need to count on to make them feel special and a huge part of the university. At the same time, the students at the university may have a blast and get opportunities to meet and develop life lasting friendships.
